Facelift for the 2017 Skoda Octavia Scout for Sale Unveiled

Octavia Scout on the beach

The excitement is palpable as just after the RS performance variant had its debut, the details of the 2017 Scout have been revealed. Like the rest of the revised models in the Octavia range, the Scout has some interesting changes that should appeal to all Skoda enthusiasts.

The new Skoda Octavia Scout has tweaked LED tail lights and bumpers with an updated front end, featuring a controversial new design with revised bonnet and a grille incorporating the auxiliary headlight units. As on previous incarnations, the Scout has off roader styling, wheel arch extensions and suspension 30mm taller than on a regular wagon model.
As standard, there are plastic undercarriage covers and covers for the fuel and brake lines. It also has an all wheel drive system fitted that incorporates electronic differential locks on the front and rear axles. The ramp angles have also been confirmed by Skoda as improved to 14.5 degrees on the rear and 16.6 degrees on the front.

The new Skoda Octavia Scout for sale will be offered in Europe with a choice of three engine options. There is a turbocharged 1.8 litre petrol unit offering 132 kW of power and the 110 kW and 135 kW versions of the turbo diesel 2.0 litre Volkswagen Group engine.
Here in Australia, the Scout is currently only available with a petrol 1.8 litre and the 2.0 litre 110 kW TDL. There has been no confirmation about whether these new engine options will be offered on our local market.

The changes to the Scout are not just about the exterior as the cabin has also benefitted from some refinements. The new technology available on the updated Scout includes a 9.2 inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system, adaptive LED headlights, WiFi hotspot, trailer assistance, sat nav, parking assist, city emergency braking and blind spot monitoring. There is also improved connectivity with 4G LTE throughout the range. This improved technology should not only improve the cabin ambiance, but also driver and passenger experience. So, even if you are planning a longer adventure, you can still relax and enjoy the ride.
